Art-Science Student Reps

Become a Student Rep, a MOTION Leader, of The Crearte Foundation, and explore the intersection of art, science and technology.

The Student Rep Program is your chance to spark an art-science movement at your university as a MOTION Leader.

In this role, you’ll bring together like-minded students, researchers and creatives to explore their experience of connecting disciplines that are often kept apart. Using our ready-to-go MOTION Talks® digital discussion guides –a 6-week series of interactive activities and discussion topics– you’ll lead thought-provoking conversations that inspire innovation across art, science and technology.

Whether your campus already has a thriving art-science scene or you’re building one from the ground up, being a MOTION Leader gives you the tools, support and community to change the future of interdisciplinary innovation.

Our Mission

We seek to expand awareness and action around art-science integration by empowering students to spark dialogue and create opportunities for collaboration within their campus communities.

What is Art-Science?

Art-science is the fusion of artistic expression and scientific inquiry, a mingling where both fields integrate to explore, interpret, and communicate ideas, unveiling new perspectives.

Why is Art-Science Important?

Innovative ideas meeting today’s real-world challenges rarely fit within one discipline. By combining creativity with scientific methodologies, students and researchers can generate new solutions, communicate complex ideas, and build skills that are increasingly valued in today’s innovation-driven economy.

We're looking for motivated students who are curious about the intersection of...

ART, SCIENCE, & TECHNOLOGY.

This is an opportunity to become a recognized leader on your campus. MOTION Leaders

MOTION Talks® began at Building 21, McGill University’s innovation hub, where students experimented with how art and science could come together through structured conversations and activities. Designed by Nicia John through the BLUE x TOSI student award, the program quickly grew into a model that inspired dialogue across disciplines. From these sessions, we saw participants gain confidence in interdisciplinary thinking, expand their networks across faculties, and generate new ideas they would not have arrived at alone.

We’re carrying this model forward, implementing MOTION Talks® in innovation hubs and universities across Canada to continue building momentum and growing a vibrant community of art-science students.
